Agni Bay
Tucked into Corfu’s northeast coast, Agni Bay is a favorite among captains seeking calm, clear waters and complete stillness. The bay offers excellent holding on a sandy seabed, and the water remains glassy even when light winds pick up outside the cove. With only a handful of waterfront tavernas, the ambience is gentle and serene. You can moor just meters from the shore and enjoy dinner on board or step off the tender and dine with your feet in the sand.
Petriti
On the southeast coast, Petriti remains one of the most authentic fishing villages in Corfu — and a perfect overnight anchorage for yachts wanting peace and local flavor. The seabed offers reliable holding, and the breakwater provides protection from swell. Early mornings are calm and beautiful, with fishermen returning from sea. The tavernas here serve some of the island’s freshest seafood, often caught just hours earlier.
Kalami Bay
Kalami is not just famous for its literary past, but also for being a secure and quiet anchorage. With steep hillsides covered in olive trees and a few tasteful villas, the scenery is pure Ionian charm. The bay holds well in most conditions, and its narrow shape shields it from unexpected gusts. This is an excellent spot to enjoy reading on deck or paddleboarding at dusk, with only the cicadas and the gentle lap of waves for company.
Alipa (Paleokastritsa)
Hidden behind the dramatic cliffs of Paleokastritsa lies Alipa, a small harbor and anchorage that feels otherworldly at sunset. While daytime boat traffic can be heavy, by late afternoon the waters empty and silence returns. The bay is narrow and deep, and anchoring is best suited for experienced captains or with local guidance. Once secured, though, the rewards are incredible — towering rock faces, crystalline waters, and a night under steep cliffs glowing with moonlight.
Voutoumi, Antipaxos
Although technically off Corfu, no list would be complete without mentioning Voutoumi on Antipaxos. Many yachts venture south for a few days, and Voutoumi’s white sands and fluorescent waters make it one of the dreamiest anchorages in the Ionian. While it’s busy during the day, it becomes a private paradise by night. Anchor carefully, as the seabed varies, and stay on board for a surreal, star-lit experience.
Kerasia
Back in the northeast, Kerasia is a long, gentle bay flanked by pine and cypress trees, with very little built along its shore. It offers solid protection and excellent holding in settled weather. Because it’s less developed than neighboring bays, Kerasia remains one of the quietest anchorages even in peak summer. Dolphins are sometimes seen in the area, especially in early morning hours.
Arkoudilas (Cape South)
For those seeking a wild anchorage far from it all, the southern tip of Corfu near Cape Arkoudilas offers a raw and untouched setting. There are no facilities here — just a stretch of cliffs, forested hills, and a vast sense of space. Best visited in settled weather and with a good anchor setup, this spot rewards you with unmatched solitude and dramatic sunrise views over the Ionian.
